Why we collect data
collection.cards only uses personal data to make the platform work: securing your account, managing your collection, showing suitable card offers and enabling trades between users. We don’t sell personal data and don’t use it for advertising profiles.
Data at registration
- Username
- Identifies you within collection.cards and forms the URL of your public profile.
- Email address
- Used to create your account, sign you in, confirm your email address and send account-related messages. It is not shown publicly.
- Password
- Secures your account. The password is processed by our authentication service and stored hashed; collection.cards cannot view it as readable text.
- Country
- Helps show relevant offers and possible trading partners within the right country. Your country is visible on your public profile.
- Postal code
- Converted into an approximate location to calculate distances between users. Your postal code, municipality and coordinates are not shown publicly.
- Search radius
- Determines within what distance collection.cards looks for matches and offers by default.
- Agreement to this privacy policy
- We store the time of your agreement to record which information you accepted when you registered.
Data you add later
Your bio and shipping preference describe how you like to trade and may be publicly visible. Collection, offer and wishlist data are needed to manage your cards and calculate matches. Messages, trade proposals and confirmations are stored to carry out a trade between the users involved. Your time zone determines on which local day value snapshots are saved.
What other users see
Your public profile may show your username, bio, country, shipping preference and active card offers. For a signed-in user, collection.cards may show a calculated distance without revealing your postal code or coordinates. When you enter into a trade, only the users involved receive the information needed to discuss and carry out that trade. Your private collection, wishlist, email address, postal code and exact location are not made public.
Sharing and technical processing
We don’t share your data with third parties for sales, advertising or their own use. Data may, however, be processed by technical service providers that are necessary for hosting, database, authentication and security. They process data solely on behalf of the platform. Beyond that, data only becomes visible to other users as described above, through a public profile or a trade.
Retention and your rights
We keep account data for as long as your account is active and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed, except for data we are legally required to keep. You can view and correct your profile data via “Edit profile”. You can also request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal data. In addition, you have the right to object to certain processing and to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.
